Elected Officials and Residents Clash over Brentwood "Multicultural Center"
The District government has set aside $500,000 for a "multi-cultural" center that will be located in the Brentwood neighborhood of Ward 5.
- Brookland CDC Receives Court Judgment for Non-Payment of Rent
On August 28th, the Superior Court of DC handed down a judgment against the Brookland Community Develompent Corporation. The Brookland CDC owes more than $8,000 in back rent associated with its lease of 3523 12th Street NE.

At its regular meeting on August 20th, the Public Charter School Board granted conditional approval to Stokes School to relocate to Brookland. "We don't have the sense that anyone in the government listened to us," said one resident.
